There are feelers that the ground and air forces have again achieved a resounding victory against the deadly bandits in Maru LGA of Zamfara state.

This was sequel to a well coordinated ground and air raids conducted on a major, well fortified and secretly guarded bandits’ hideout in kango Maru LGA of Zamfara State.

The army raided the camp at a time the bandits are expanding the camp established since 2013. The HumAngle magazine reported that two notorious and dangerous bandits’ Commanders AkA Dogo and Kachalla Yellow, established the camp in a village called “Birni” after chasing the villagers away in 2013.

It’s almost impossible for anybody to reach the camp on foot, said the HumAngle Magazine. “It is located in Maru local government closed to “Kuyanbana” Forest in Zamfara state.

The camp is hosting other bandits from neighboring Niger republic, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna states.

According to reliable information the bandits are gradually being reinforce by run away Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists from Ngorke and Sambisa forests. They live in the camp with their families and animals and has plan to expand it.

It will take a long time for them to establish a camp of that nature” said the source.

Major general John Enenche of the Defence Media Operation disclosed that the raid is under operation “ACCORD”. Enenche said the Army got intellegence report about the camp in the forest.

HumAngle reported that Dogo Gide and some top bandits leaders escaped the raid with bullet injuries and are receiving treatment from Dandalla hospital in Maru local government.

Some rescued victims disclosed that hundreds of bandits are killed including ‘Yellow’, Dagi and Shadi.

The Army recovered arms and ammunition from the raid in the camp.
