GOC 7 Division Bids Farewell to Bama Commander, Brigadier Gen Audu, Deputy Director Music Director, Major Evans

GOC 7 Division, Brigadier General A.K. Ibrahim has bids farewell to Bama Commander, Brigadier Gen S.T. Audu and Deputy Director Music, Major J.E. Evans in Grand style.

At the farewell ceremony held in Maiduguri on Tuesday, the GOC described both as their finest officers.

“I appreciate everyone for having time to honour us.

“We are here to celebrate two of our finest officers. I have known Evans for several years we are sad that we are separating with Evans but happy for the good replacement.

“For Audu, if they have consulted me before the posting, I would have requested for more time before his posting.

“Moreover this is his third time of coming. He started as a Lieutenant, came back as a Colonel and he is leaving as a Brigadier General.

“As a general, he always follows the soldiers on missions.

“He had so many operational successes.

“He always looks after the welfare of his soldiers.

“As GOC, I am very satisfied with your job I pray one day you will be GOC of 7 Div,” the GOC who is the patron of the Mess said.

In his remarks, President Mess Committee,
Brigadier Gen WB Etuk while delivering his welcome address, said that both officers leaving the Division, have served gallantly.

“Brigadier Gen ST Audu 21 Task Force Commander Bama, he is called a Jukun Warrior.
Major J.E. Evans, assistant director music has equally served well.

“Brigadier Gen ST Audu, the 21 Task Force Commander Bama is a dodged fighter who puts insurgents on the run since his deployment in Bama.

“Major J.E. Evans is a committed officer who always delivers every assignment he is assigned to.

“A very good testimony has been cited by various visitors which has been positive to the outgoing officers,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that the GOC 7 Div who is the patron of the mess, has tasked the new Excos to revive the mess.

“We discovered what the patron wants us to do the mess to be well maintained and ensure dignity of the mess

“We have drawn out a work plan to make the mess to be recognized as a corporate body, we have achieved that.

“We set a minimum standard for the mess has to have its own rules and regulations for the first time.

“We initiated the induction of members. This mess will only allow members to visit the hall.

“We talked about getting a gym for officers to get fit,” he said.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Audu
thanked God for his presence in the Northeast, where he disclosed he has served for almost 17 years.

“We really appreciate the good sendoff organized by the PMC and the Patron.

“The General in you has been noticed since our NDA days as cadets.

“I don’t wait for operational orders in my own case, before the order, I move ahead.

“GOC has been supportive, he doesn’t wait for paper, once you make a request, he tries to approve it, paper will follow up later.

“That is what made me achieve greater feats.

“GOC always appreciates us and that always gingers us in the field of operation.
GOC always has listening ears,” he said.

Speaking further, he extended gratitude to other officers in the division.

“I will never forget the gesture of the 7 Div spokesman, Colonel Ado Isa.

“Lastly, to each and everyone that contributed in one way or the other to our success,” he said.

Meanwhile, tere was presentation of gifts to the outgoing officers as part of the activities that marked the ceremony.
